Press release from The Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, 3 February 2009
Approval from the European Commission to the Danish package for credit institutions Today the European Commission has approved the Danish Act on Capitalisation for credit institutions and the amendment of the Danish Financial Stability Act according to the European state aid rules. Danish Minister for Economic and Business Affairs, Lene Espersen: I am very satisfied that the Commission once again so swiftly has issued an approval of the Danish schemes. The dialog and corporation with the Commission has been constructive. Thus the parliamentary process in Denmark has been conducted without any delay and we now have the formal certainty that the Danish schemes are in compliance with the state aid rules. The political agreement regarding the export lending facility of 20 billion dkr has been individually notified for the Commission. Due to the fact, that a decision on the notification of the new facility involves several different services within the Commission, it will take a little longer to get the approval of this facility. We expect the Commission approval of the Danish export lending facility to be given soon.
